During this troubled economic time you probably don’t have a lot of extra cash to spend on entertainment. Subscription fees from Netflix and Blockbuster can really add up when you’re trying to keep an eye on spending. DirecTV recently upped their prices on pay-per-view movies from $2.99 to $4.99 which is a pretty egregious increase.

But don’t worry, because you can watch pretty much any movie that’s currently in the theater or at the video store for free online. Last week I watched The Wrestler, Valkyrie, The Curios Case Of Benjamin Button, and a few others. Sometimes the movies are bootleg versions where someone sits in the theater with a video camera and films the screen, but I don’t bother with those. If you do a little searching 99% of the time you can find a DVD quality version of almost any movie imaginable for free.

‘Benjamin Button’ for example had a little message that would come up on the screen a few times during the movie for a few minutes that said it was a screening copy not for sale or distribution, etc. People who get advanced copies of movies directly from the studios for whatever reason I’m guessing upload the movies and they spread around the net like wildfire.
