Google officially unveiled Google TV today before a live audience at its Google I/O Conference. Suffice it to say, it’s as cool as you you’d think it would be. Maybe even cooler.

No More iPhone Sales In NYC

There’s no doubt that iPhone users are the most passionate mobile consumers out there. There is very little left for a human to do at this point that an iPhone app hasn’t been created to do for us.

That passion that iPhone users are famous for is also apparently causing AT&T to have a meltdown. The data traffic created in large cities by iPhone users is so severe that AT&T has stopped selling the iPhone in New York City.

If you attempt to purchase one online and you live in New York — “this package is no longer available in your area.” AT&T claims New York simply doesn’t have enough cell phone towers to handle all the traffic.

It’s pretty sad that AT&T’s infrastructure is in such sad ass shape that it’s on the verge of collapse from iPhone users, but I guess it is.

I say leave the iPhone to the kiddies, and get yourself a Blackberry.

First Look At Google Chrome OS

The much talked about and much anticipated Google Chrome operating system is almost upon us. Lifehacker has a blow by blow of all the particulars, but you can check out the promo video from Google below.

It really does sound like a great idea in theory, but I’m going to have to use it before I’m sold. That said, if it works as advertised I can see it becoming the industry standard on netbooks at least. This is something Microsoft is no doubt concerned about.

YouTube Begins Streaming 1080p HD Next Week

YouTube is set to roll out 1080p HD videos next week. The video sharing site will begin streaming very high resolution 1080p in large, wide-screen, TV friendly format.

TwitterPeek: A Weird Device You Don’t Need

The TwitterPeek is quite possibly the most pointless device man has ever created. It’s a small handheld device that does Twitter — only Twitter. It looks like a smart phone and is about the same size and weight — but all it does is Twitter.

I have no idea how well the TwitterPeek works, but the real question is why do I care? What difference does it make if it works good or not? Why should I carry around a second device for doing something my Blackberry already does — and does quite well?

Oh, I also forgot to mention the TwitterPeek costs $200.

No thanks.

Video: First Look At Motorola Droid

CNET has a video review for the new Motorola Droid. It does look like a pretty sweet phone, but I doubt it’s going to do much damage to the iPhone. For me, Blackberry is the only way to go.

Here’s a first look at the upcoming Blackberry Tour 2 (codename: Essex). According to the good folks at Blackberry Cool, it’s really just a Blackberry Tour with a trackpad and WiFi. I don’t know, but it’s still cool either way.
